Our Heart Behind Open Meadow Days

When Molly and Jake created Hidden Meadow School, their vision extended beyond excellent early education. They wanted to build community. They wanted to share this beautiful land. They wanted families to have a space to slow down, breathe fresh air, and reconnect with what matters most.

In our busy world, it can be hard to find time to pause. This season of the year, and this season of life with young children, offers a wonderful opportunity to do exactly that.

We hope Open Meadow Days feels like having your very own private park to explore and enjoy with the people you love most.
This isn’t a program. It’s not a structured event. It’s an open invitation to experience this land the way your child experiences it every day they come to school: with curiosity, wonder, and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Your Child Has Been Waiting for This

They have so many discoveries they’re eager to share with you!

For as long as your child has been a student at The Meadow, your child has been building a relationship with this land. They’ve learned the trails by heart. They’ve found favorite spots you’ve never seen. They’ve discovered secret hideouts, interesting logs, the best places to find bugs, and where the creek sounds the loudest.

They’ve been exploring Hidden Meadow while you’ve been at work, running errands, caring for siblings, managing life. Now it’s your turn.

We think your child would love the chance to give you a tour.
Just as importantly, we believe it’s meaningful for you to experience what your child experiences each day they come to school. To see the world through their eyes. To understand why they come home talking about a particular tree or excited about the mud puddle near the creek shelter.

If they can tromp through the mud in the rain with smiles for miles, we think the rest of us can too.

A quick note as you plan: the mud is real around here. Please dress for the weather and wear shoes you don’t mind getting wonderfully messy.

2026 Open Meadow Days

This March, Open Meadow Day is getting even bigger!

On March 29, we’re combining our monthly community gathering with a Summer Camp Open House to give families a chance to explore everything Hidden Meadow has to offer this summer.

In addition to the usual trail walks, creek exploration, and fire pit hangouts, families can learn about our summer camp program, ask questions, and let potential campers experience the property where they’ll spend their summer building shelters, tracking wildlife, caring for baby ducks, and harvesting from the garden. Whether you’re already enrolled at Hidden Meadow or just discovering us for the first time, this event is open to everyone and completely free.

Camp runs three themed weeks in July and August for ages 3 to 10, with just 25 spots per week. Come see why families trust Hidden Meadow and get your questions answered in person.

2026 Open Meadow Days

RSVPs help us plan for the right number of families, coordinate fire pit access, and send you the property map and any important updates.

Open Meadow Days RSVP Form

We can’t wait to have your family join us out in the meadow! Before you arrive, we ask every family to complete this RSVP and sign our liability waiver. It takes just a few minutes and helps us keep everyone safe, prepared, and ready for a great day outside.

You’ll See Us There Too

Molly, Jake, Stella, Quincy, and Wilma will be participating in Open Meadow Days as much as possible. You’re likely to run into us on the trails, at the fire pit, or exploring the creek.

“We’re always happy to chat, answer questions, give tours, or simply share the space alongside you. You are also very welcome to explore, play, and make the space your own. This land is here for all of us.”
– Molly & Jake

Open Meadow Days are as much for us as they are for you. We love seeing families connect with this land and with each other. We love watching children show their parents the special spots they’ve discovered. We love building community in this beautiful outdoor classroom.

We look forward to sharing this place with you and continuing to grow our Hidden Meadow community together.
